VAT Deregistration in the UAE
If your company stops trading, closes, or your turnover falls below the level that required you to register, you are expected to apply to deregister, and there is a window in which to do it. Applying late carries a penalty of its own, and staying registered while inactive means returns still fall due every quarter. Either way, doing nothing is the expensive option.
What This Service Includes
- Confirming whether you qualify to deregister and from which date
- Filing any outstanding returns, because the application will not succeed without them
- Settling outstanding tax and penalties
- Preparing and submitting the deregistration application
- Filing the final VAT return
- Handling any adjustment on assets held at deregistration
- Tracking the application to confirmation
What You Need to Provide
- Your Tax Registration Number
- Trade licence, and the cancellation certificate if the licence is closed
- Turnover figures for the last twelve months
- Records up to the date trading stopped
- Details of assets still held by the company
How It Works
- We confirm you qualify and establish the effective date.
- We bring the records current and file anything still outstanding.
- We settle what is owed, so the application is not rejected.
- We submit the deregistration and file the final return.
- We confirm to you in writing that the registration is closed.
Why H2RS
Deregistration applications are usually rejected for one reason: something behind them is still unfiled or unpaid. We clear the file first and apply second. As a registered tax agent we deal with the authority throughout, including whatever is raised after the application goes in.
